Two Local Artists Collaborate, Exhibit At Library

Artist Anna Gitana Layton was busy at the Calhoun County Public Library on North Pear Street in Blountstown last week doing her watercolor work as visitors stopped by to view the “Noreen & Clair” art exhibit. The collection features the collaborative works of Layton and Nancy Zuremda which they describe as “a blend of art and love of history.” It is rare for two artists to work together, however, when Anna saw one of Nancy’s charcoal drawings of the Bailey Cabin at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement, she asked if she could add “some of my watercolor flowers and maybe a clothes line and other stuff.” Nancy agreed and the creation that resulted birthed “Noreen & Claire.” These two talented ladies now have a complete collection that begins with Nancy’s charcoal drawings and ends with Anna’s watercolor painting. The exhibit will be at the Blountstown library through Oct. 30. Stop by Thursday and you will catch Anna demonstrating her work.
