A defense contractor has turned the old catfish processing plant into a training center for soldiers.They move at night, under the cover of darkness. Winding along the river, camouflaged among the creatures that come out after dark. The men and women who serve our country in the armed forces have found training ground in Northwest Florida for years.Now, a new facility has opened it’s doors here in Calhoun County to prepare soldiers for what they may face on the other side of the globe.“We’re a defense contractor,” explains Bruce McCormack of a company known as ARTIC. “We facilitate training and exercise support to various military units, mainly special operations.”ARTIC, a division of Stratcorp, leased the former catfish processing plant at the Calhoun County Agricultural Industrial Park back in October.
