The Blountstown Tigers stopped Madison County’s two-point play to win the game with :28 seconds left Friday night before a huge crowd at Bowles Field. The 33-32 victory sets up a final four matchup with Pahokee Friday night at Bowles Field with the kickoff at 7:00 p.m. Pahokee defeated Taylor County 17-7 Friday night to advance to the semi-final game in Blountstown.
The Tigers built a 27-6 halftime lead and had a long touchdown run by Amari Thomas nullified by a holding penalty on the Tigers’ first possession of the second half.
After that, Madison’s talented quarterback took over and finished the night with four rushing touchdowns. Thomas finished another big game for the Tigers rushing for 208 yards on 10 carries and two touchdowns and returning a fumble recovery 68 yards for his third score. Quarterback Jaylen Jones threw for 1 touchdown and ran in for another.
