Teens are flown to hospital after ‘Mojo’ smoking

Details are sketchy, but The County Record has learned that three teens were airlifted to an area hospital Sunday after allegedly smoking “Mojo.” The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office would only confirm they are investigating the matter and have several individuals to interview this week with plans for a detailed report to be available by next week. Sources say a 911 call came in late Sunday afternoon reporting that three teens, between the ages of 15 and 17, were at a home in Neal Subdivision in Bristol and very ill. One was reportedly unresponsive, another was vomiting blood, and a third was having a seizure. It was reported that the trio had been smoking Mojo, a synthetic version of marijuana that is sold over the counter at convenience stores as incense. This is the second case this month for Liberty County involving a juvenile who has been rushed to a hospital after smoking Mojo. A woman was arrested in the previous case for giving Mojo to her nine-year-old daughter to smoke. The child went into seizures and was airlifted to TMH for treatment.
