by Blake Hancock Coach Davis is the boys head basketball coach at BHS and he brings a lot of coaching experience to the progrBorn in Chipley, he played football and basketball in high school. After high school he moved on to the University of Florida. From there he earned a degree in business administration. Also, while at Florida he played football and basketball. He began his coaching career back in his hometown of Chipley. He has been coaching for ten years. He found Blountstown through a basketball rivalry, when he was playing at Chipley against Coach Granger. He coached and taught at West Gadsden before he joined the tiger team where he has been teaching physical education for three years.Some of his hobbies include fishing and watching or playing sports. He enjoys engaging in these activities with his son, Jabar. His favorite book is Pursuit of Purpose by Miles Monroe.When I asked him why he wanted to be a teacher he said he enjoys working with the people who will have an impact on the future. Not only does he bring the lessons of life to the game but he also teaches his players the importance of doing the right thing on and off the court. BHS appreciates all he does to help students walk through the journey of life.
