Liberty County Sheriff Dusty Arnold recently had the honor of meeting with FBI Director Kash Patel, DEA Administrator Terry Cole, and Office of National Drug Control Policy Director Sara Carter at the Florida Sheriff’s Association’s Summer Conference.
We had conversations about the emerging and evolving threats facing our rural communities and our nation. We discussed the continued dangers posed by drug trafficking, addiction, and mental health challenges, as well as the importance of strong partnerships between local, state, and federal agencies.
Rural communities may be small, but the issues we face are not. I appreciate each of these leaders for taking the time to discuss how we can continue working together to protect our communities, support those struggling with addiction and mental health, and hold those who profit from harming others accountable.
