Second meth lab bust in a week

A second meth lab bust last week occurred at another Blountstown home with two arrested. Ronnie Brant Creamer, 41, and Casey Michelle Byrd, 29, have been charged with manufacture and possession of meth, as well as violation of state probation. Creamer is also charged with escape. The pair remain in custody on a $15,000 bond. According to the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, Sgt. Jared Nichols and Dep. Jody Hoagland went to a home at 13721 NW Cricket Road to serve an arrest warrant on Byrd for violating her probation after receiving a tip she was at that address with Creamer who was also wanted on an outstanding warrant. A man residing in the home said neither were there, but allowed deputies to enter and confirm they were not inside. Byrd was found sitting on a bed and was taken into custody. A pair of work boots were spotted next to the bed. Dep. Hoagland checked under the bed and discovered a meth reaction vessel, along with a straw and several clear bottles containing clear liquids. Creamer was found hiding in a bathroom. Byrd reportedly stated the reaction vessel was in the final stages when Creamer brought it to her bedroom. She reported watching him finish the cook, then said they snorted some of the finished product together. The meth was found in an armoire. Creamer was placed in a patrol car while the scene was processed. He reportedly opened the cage window, slid through and escaped out the front passenger door, fleeing on foot. A K-9 team from Calhoun Correctional Institution responded and Creamer was found in nearby woods.
