A 48-year-old Marianna woman was transported by helicopter Saturday afternoon with serious injuries after her small pickup went off the Scotts Ferry Bridge and crashed into the enbankment below. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the accident happened around 6:00 p.m.
According to the FHP report, the pickup was heading northbound entering the bridge. For unknown reasons, the driver failed to maintain a single lane causing the pickup to cross the centerline toward the west bridge guardrail. The vehicle traveled approximately 50’ on top of the guardrail before falling off the guardrail onto the enbankment next to the Chipola River
