Rotary Club’s Big River Roundup Flathead Tourney Winners

The Blountstown Rotary Club (BRC) hosted the 16th annual Big River Roundup Florida Flathead Catfish Tournament over Memorial Day weekend. Ronald Earnest was named Flathead King after reeling in the 32.75 lb. first place fish. For the second year, BRC was sanctioned for the Cabela’s King Kat Tournament. Ronald Earnest and his team will represent the BRC at this tournament with the $500 entry fee covered by BRC. Information about the Cabela’s King Kat Tournament can be found at www.cabelas.com. In addition, Ronald took home $2000 and a nice plaque for his winning fish. Parley Shuler reeled in the second largest Flathead at 31.56 lbs. and won $1,000. Chris Earnest had the third largest at 27.42 lbs. and won $500 Over $850 was awarded for the top three fish caught from the bank. Winners are shown above with their plaques. Mark your calendar for next year’s event to be held once again on Memorial Day weekend.
