Red Birds defeat the Horsemen; All-Star Father’s Day game set

In the Eastern Division of the Big Bend Baseball League of Florida, the Chattahoochee Red Birds retained their 2 game lead, as did the Gulf Drive, by beating the Calhoun Horsemen, 7-5, in game one on a scheduled DH. The 2nd game was postponed due to inclement weather in the top of the 5th inning, but will be completed at a later date. In the Western Division a double-header was split by the Bay County Brewers and Gulf County Drive as the Bay Brewers increased their lead over the second place idle Jackson Jays. Next Saturday, June 18th, will feature the annual Father’s Day All-Star Game between the Western Division All-Stars and the Eastern Division All-Stars. The Commissioner, Morrell Bailey, has designated Therrell Field in Chattahoochee as the site for this All-Star event. Game time is scheduled for 6:05 PM EDT. Regular league play will resume on Sunday, June 26th.
