OPAL ANN ROGERS

Mrs. Opal Ann Rogers, 65, of Bristol, passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2009, at her home in Bristol. Opal was born on April 27, 1944, in Jackson County and lived in Bristol for most of her life. She was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness faith and was a retired beautician. She also worked with the Liberty County Intermediate Care Facility. Opal was preceded in death by her son, Louis Rogers, and two great-grandchildren. Survivors include five sons, Durwood Cline, of Bristol, Larry Rogers and his wife, Jeanie, of Bristol, Wayne Rogers, of Bristol, Bobby Rogers and his wife, Jayde, of Homosassa, and Edward Rogers and his wife, Debbie, of Bristol; one daughter, Denise Stull, and her husband, Raymond, of Bristol; four sisters, Janet Knight and her husband, Billy Joe, of Greensboro, Laura Smith and her husband, Tommy, of Quincy, Annette Miles and her husband, Buddy, of Sneads, and Jean Burdick and her husband, Allen, of Greensboro; her aunt, Mary Alice Taylor, and husband, Pete, of Naples; 18 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. A funeral service was held Thursday, October 15, at 11 a.m. EDT at the Bristol Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Coy Collins officiating. Interment followed in the Meacham Cemetery in Bristol. All arrangements were under the direction of Marlon Peavy of Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 850-674-2266).
