One seriously injured in SR20 wreck

A 29-year-old Bristol man suffered serious injuries around 10.20 a.m. Monday morning when he was involved in a three vehicle accident. The wreck happened on SR 20 in Bristol in front of the Piggly Wiggly.

According to a FHP report, a 64 year-old Panama City man (V1) was driving eastbound in the merge lane adjacent to another truck. The second truck (V 2) was driven by a 48-year-old Panama City man also eastbound. The truck driven by the Bristol man (V 3) was traveling Westbound on SR 20 as it approached Solomon Street.

Both eastbound trucks were occupied by passengers.

When V1 attempted to merge into V2’s lane of travel resulted in the driver’s side rear panel of V1 colliding with the passenger side front panel of V2 causing V1 to rotate counterclockwise in front of V2. V1 was then propelled across the center lines and into the direct path of V3. The front bumper and driver’s side rear panel of V3 then collided with the passenger side of V1 in the westbound land of travel causing V1 to overturn onto its passenger side.

V1 came to rest with the back half on top of V3’s driver’s side truck bed. The drivers and passengers of Vehicles 1 and 2 all suffered minor injuries.
