Mrs. Emma E. (Billie) McGee Ammons Phillips, 86, of Blountstown, FL, passed away Friday night, September 16, 2011, in Panama City, FL. Billie was born on September 6, 1925, in Calhoun County and had lived here all of her life. She worked at the Calhoun County Public Library for five years and retired after 20 years working at the Blountstown Elementary School Cafeteria. Billie was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Blountstown. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Grady McGee and Ed Max Phillips; three brothers, John Ammons, Sonny Boy Ammons and H.C. Ammons; two sisters, Bessie Mae Ammons and Viola Williams. Survivors include, one son James Henry Ammons, and his wife, Sue, of Blountstown; one brother, Dallas Jackson (Nookie) Ammons, of Blountstown; one daughter, Jackie Phillips, of Pennsylvania; 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Monday, September 19, at 2 pm (CDT) at Calvary Baptist Church in Blountstown with Reverend Francis Carlisle and Reverend Marvin Nichols officiating. Interment followed in the Pine Memorial Cemetery in Blountstown. All arrangements are under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown (ph. 674-2266).
