William “Doug” Kimbrel, 60, departed this world peacefully at his home on October 28, 2011. Mr. Kimbrel was born and raised in Calhoun County, although he made Apalachicola his home for the past 34 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, James Charles and Dorothy Kimbrel of the Red Oak Community. Mr. Kimbrel leaves behind his fiancée, Pam Burns, of Apalachicola; his daughters, Renea Kimbrel O’Bryan, of Bristol, FL, Chastity Kimbrel Sandusky of Marianna, FL, and Pamala Kimbrel of San Diego, CA; his stepson, Billy Riley, of Panama City, FL; his grandsons, Christian Kimbrel and wife, Tiffany, of Marianna, FL, and Michael Lowe of San Diego, CA; his granddaughters, Saige Kent of Blountstown, FL, and Kymberly Kent of Bristol; his sisters, Louise Dean and husband, Ed, of Greensboro, FL and Sara Alday and husband, Steve, of Altha, FL; his brother, James Charles Kimbrel, Jr. and wife, Christy; step-sisters, Janet O’pry of Greenwood, FL and Elaine Williams of Eastpoint, FL; step-brothers, Alton and Earl Mears; countless aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. At his request, a private family service will be held at a later date.
