OBITUARY – Coxwell

Alton Coxwell, Jr., 79, of Blountstown, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2011, in Blountstown. Mr. Coxwell was born in Blountstown to the late Alton Sr. and Malzie Coxwell and served a short period in the US Army before moving back to Calhoun County. He was a member of Gateway Baptist Church and was the owner and operator of Coxwell Wholesale Bait for over 50 years.Survivors include his wife, Bernice, of Blountstown; three sons, Rickey Coxwell and his wife, Sue, Mickey Coxwell and Chuck Coxwell, all of Blountstown; two daughters, Peggy Thrasher and her husband, Mark, of Centreville, Mississippi, and Cathy McWaters and her husband, Bo, of Clarksville; seven grandchildren, Heather, Chase, Leslie, Cayla, Camren, Megan and Carly and one great grandchild, Logan.Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Saturday, July 23, from the Adams Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown with Reverend David Goodman officiating. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM Friday, July 22, at the Adams Funeral Home in Blountstown. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements (ph. 674-5449).
