Obituaries – September 8th 2022

Zachary Bradford King, Sr., 70, of Blountstown, FL walked into everlasting life on Saturday, September 3, 2022, at home.

Zach was born September 26,1951 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late James Lester King and Mary Ann King.

Zach was Valedictorian of his senior class. He furthered his education with one year in Business Administration until he was drafted.  Zach served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam war.  Zach worked for the City of Gainesville as a groundskeeper for 15 years, from where he retired. He worked with his father building houses for many years. Zach was a baptized believer in Jesus Christ and a member of the CRMC Church in Bristol, FL. Zach believed he fulfilled his greatest achievement by becoming an Ordained Minister. He loved to tell everyone about his Jesus. He was an inspiration and encourager to others with his love and faith.

Zach was always kind, helpful, joking, laughing, and had an electric energy for life and everything he did was at a lightning speed. He was always smiling and making everyone laugh. He was forever telling stories of his life about building and racing cars, riding his chopper and building houses with his father. He loved his cowboy hat, western shirts and cowboy boots. If you knew him and he cared about you, he called you “Momma”.  If he was giving you a hug, it was very powerful, the way he wrapped his arms around you and always when you least expected it, but he knew you needed it.

Zach is survived by one daughter, Faith King of Orlando, FL, two sons, Zachary Bradford King Jr., and wife, Connie of Texas and David King and wife, Jessica of High Springs, FL; two grandchildren, Owen and Paton King of High Springs FL; two brothers, Stan King of Lake Butler, FL and James King of Ellijay, Georgia; two sisters, Trina King of High Springs, FL and Christy Glass and husband, Dean of High Springs, FL, and many nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind many friends from his senior living community, Rivertown Senior Care in Blountstown FL.

Everyone that remembers him is invited to celebrate his life by doing a small act of kindness for someone or wearing a cowboy hat in his memory. He would have really loved that.
