
MARGARET SEWELL TATUM
Margaret Sewell Tatum, age 76, of Altha, FL passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at her home. Margaret was born on March 17, 1946, in Monks Corner, SC to Johnny & Alma Sewell. She was raised by her Aunt Jenny Sewell, lived in Calhoun County all her life and was a 1964 graduate of Altha High School. Margaret was a loving mother and homemaker and a dear friend to all. She was a lifetime member of Page Pond Assembly of God Church where she was a dedicated Sunday school teacher and involved in many other church functions. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family and grandchildren. Margaret loved the Lord and was a fervent prayer warrior. She is preceded in death by her parents Johnny & Alma Sewell, Jenny Sewell, brother-in-law Ray Tatum and sister-in-law Sharon Sewell. Survivors include her husband of 57 years Lloyd Tatum; daughters, Teresa (Danny) Butzke of Lynn Haven, FL and Paula (Nicolas) Diefenbacher of Manhattan, NY; brother, Jackie Sewell of Altha, FL; brother-in-law, Hank (Charlotte) Tatum of Coalport, PA and sister-in-law Darlene Tatum of Marianna, FL: grandchildren, Casey Hatcher of Altha, FL; Renaud and Arnaud Diefenbacher of Manhattan, NY; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation was held at the Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown, FL on Sunday, January 15, 2023, from 5:00 pm-7:00 pm CST. Funeral service followed Monday, January 16, 2023, at 2:00 pm CST at Page Pond Assembly of God Church in Altha, FL with Reverend Trent Broome, Reverend Paul Smith, and Reverend Tommy Moore officiating followed by burial at Page Pond Assembly of God Cemetery.

JERRY CLEMMONS HARRELL
Jerry Clemmons Harrell, 91, of Altha passed away Tuesday, January 10, 2023, in Blountstown, Fl. Jerry was born January 28, 1931, in Altha to the late Harmon and Alice Harrell, the 5th of 9 children. Jerry is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years Juanita (Lawrence) Harrell.
Jerry’s surviving children are J. Wayne Harrell (Andrea Vance) & Sherry Marquez (Edward); grandchildren Lia Harrell (Scott Schneider), Nicole Hand (Scott), Jessica Baker (Chip), Dylan Vance, Edward Marquez, Jr. (Chrissy); great grandchildren Lydia, Alex, Mark, Zadie, Anna, Aubrey, Fauna and Asher. Jerry’s surviving siblings are Vera Bodiford of Blountstown, D.G. “Pete” Harrell (Joyce) of Altha and Dorothy Davis of Altha.
Jerry joined the Navy at the age of 17 with permission from his dad, Harmon Harrell, February 13, 1948, to see the world. Jerry served aboard ship during both the Korean and Vietnamese war and retired from the US Navy as an Aviation Machinist’s Mate Senior Chief Petty Officer having served 22 years active duty. While serving in the Navy, Jerry also worked at a local airport in Brunswick, GA as an aircraft mechanic, where in lieu of pay, he received flying lessons and earned his private pilot’s license. Also in Agana, Guam he worked for Governor Flores for over a year as an aircraft mechanic and had access to the governor’s aircraft for personal use. After retirement, Jerry was employed as an Engine Mechanic Instructor at Embry Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, FL for just over a year. Jerry’s favorite hobbies were golfing, and deep-sea fishing.
Family will receive friends Saturday January 21, 2023, at 10:00 AM (CST) at the Peavy Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM (CST) with Reverend Brandon Whit officiating. Interment will follow at Mt Olive Cemetery in Altha, FL. After the services a reception will be held at the First Baptist Church of Altha.

VERMIRE JACOBS
Mr. Vermire Jacobs, age 83, of Bristol, FL passed away Monday, January 9, 2023 at his home. Vermire was born on July 8, 1939 in Bristol to Robert Jacobs and Idoma (Kever) Jacobs and had lived in Liberty County all of his life. He retired as a heavy equipment operator with the St. Joe company, Woodlands division in Hosford, FL. He was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Faith. Vermire enjoyed fishing, painting houses on the side, a avid Florida State Seminole fan but most of all he truly loved his family. He enjoyed preaching and spreading his love for the Lord to all that would listen. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Jacobs and Idoma (Kever) Jacobs, his wife, Chiquita Jacobs, brothers, Alan; Theo and Ronnie Jacobs, sisters, Myrlene Bateman; Kathy Mayo; Zores Sumner; Fay Moore and Annette Johnson.
Survivors include: two sons, Robert Jacobs and wife, Renee of Bristol, FL; David Jacobs and wife, Melissa of Bristol, FL, one daughter, Patrice Durden and husband, Matt of Bristol; one sister, Barbara Morgan of Foley, AL, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11:00 am (EST) at Bristol Pentecostal Holiness Church with Reverend Chris Goodman and Reverend Coy Collins officiating. The family received friends Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00 am (EST) until service time. Memorialization will be by cremation.
