Obituaries – February 15 2023

Michael Brady Baggett, age 62, passed away peacefully in his home on February 8, 2023. He was born on June 20, 1960 in Marianna, FL. Mike worked as a store manager at United Auto Parts of Blountstown, FL for 40 plus years. This position led him to never meeting a stranger and being somewhat of a celebrity in Calhoun County, Fl, the place he called home. He was dedicated to the community as well as his family. He was best known as “Big Mike”, however his newest, favorite title was that of “G-Pa”. Mike truly lived life to the fullest through the most simple pleasures; spending time with family and friends, woodworking on the weekends in his barn, and watching the Florida Gators win some football games. Mike had an uncanny ability to touch peoples’ hearts without using many words but through his actions. He was the definition of old school and people respected him for that.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Robin Baggett of Altha, his son, Hunter Baggett and wife, Rena Baggett of Altha, and their child Brady Baggett, his sister, Melanie and her husband John Hill of Marianna, FL. He had numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and cousins. He was greeted in heaven by his mother, Ada Mae Baggett and father, Bill Baggett of Altha, FL. The family has requested that in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to his one and only grandson’s trust fund set up at the Calhoun/Liberty Credit Union in Blountstown, FL.
Funeral services were held Monday, February 13, 2023 at 11:00 am (CST) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Dwayne Tolbert officiating. Interment followed in Mt. Olive Cemetery in Altha, FL. The family  received friends Monday, February 13, 2023 from 10:00 am (CST) until service time at 11:00 am (CST) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel.
All arrangements were under the direction of Marlon Peavy at Peavy Funeral Home in Blountstown, FL. 850-674-2266.
