Roman Wood, a major at the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, has filed his letter of intent to run for the sheriff’s position. Wood will run on the democratic ticket. There are currently two other candidates in the race. Ken Futch, a former captain at the Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office, and James “Jimmy” Baggett, the Altha Police Chief, are both running with no party affiliation. Sheriff David Tatum announced this week he will not seek re-election.
