Masked gunman is sought in attempted robbery at KFC

The Blountstown Police Department is seeking information on an attempted armed robberty at Kentucky Fried Chicken Friday night. According to the BPD, Ofc. Timothy Partridge responded to KFC on Central Avenue East around 9:15 p.m. One employee said he was mopping the floor when he heard a noise and looked up to see a hand at the back door waving to him to come to the door. The employee said he locked the door and got a manager. The manager went to the back and spotted a masked man with brown glove and gun barrel at the back door. She pushed the door shut and told everyone to run. A K-9 track team was deployed, but the scent was lost at River St. and Ray. Anyone with info should call BPD at 674-5987.
