An Altha man wound up on the wrong side of the law Friday when he fled from the Florida Highway Patrol (FHP). James Wiley Kelley, Jr. was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude a law enforcement officer, reckless driving, no motorcycle endorsement, and driving while his license was suspended or revoked. According to the Jackson County Sheriff Office (JCSO), Kelley was driving a motorcycle on Alliance Road Friday afternoon when members of the FHP Contraband Intradiction Unit attempted a traffic stop. Kelley was extradited back to Marianna and booked into the Jackson County Jail. In addition to the charges listed above, he was also issued a uniform traffic citation for careless driving which was the original reason for the traffic stop.
