Mrs. Lockie Ilona Pitts, 61, of Hosford, passed away Thursday, December 17, 2009, in Tallahassee. Ilona was born on February 7, 1948, in Quincy, and had lived in Hosford for most of her life. She, along with her husband, were fish bait distributors in Florida and Georgia. Mrs. Pitts had a great passion for reading and enjoyed fishing. She was a member of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ellis Pitts, her loving mother and father, Mack and Paula Mae (Beck) Mercer, and a son-in-law, Tony Shelton. Survivors include one son, Greg Pitts, of Hosford; three daughters, Lora Shelton of Altha, Patricia Johnson and her husband, Greg, of Hosford, Loretta King and her husband, Kenny, of Hosford; two brothers, Tony Mercer and his wife, Sherryl, of Blountstown, Bryan Mercer and his wife, Samantha, of Hosford; four sisters, Anita Sumner and her husband, Nelson, of Tallahassee, Maxine Mercer, of Tallahassee, Lawanna Bradley of Hosford, Donifan Anders and her husband, Curtis, of Bristol; and eight grandchildren. Memorial services were held Sunday, December 20, at 2:00 p.m. (EST) at Peavy Funeral Home Chapel in Blountstown.
