On December 7, 2022, an affidavit for the arrest of Edmond Taylor (07/06/1981) was issued charging him with a felony offense of Possession of Child Pornography, 827.051 (5)(a) Florida Statutes, to wit: a felony of the second degree. (Seventeen Counts).
On September 16, 2022, the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE), Pensacola Regional Operations Center, received a National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Cyber Tipline Report from Facebook regarding an upload of child sexual abuse material that occurred on June 16, 2022.
On September 26, 2022, FDLE Special Agent Jared Nichols reviewed the Cyber Tipline Report. SA Nichols reviewed the file and determined that it was a full color mp4 video depicting child pornography.
On September 27, 2022, SA Nichols made contact with Edmond Taylor at his residence located on SR 20 West in Calhoun County, Florida. Taylor confirmed to SA Nichols that his date of birth was September 29 and that the phone number email address, and Facebook profile provided in the cyber tip was in fact his.
Taylor allowed SA Nichols to review the contents of his cell phone. In the Facebook Messenger downloads of the Google photos of Taylor’s device, SA Nichols observed 3:53 video that depicted two adult males holding down a pubescent male that appeared to be approximately twelve to fourteen years of age.
On October 24, 2022, SA Nichols submitted a Facebook Search warrant Meta Platforms Inc. formally known as Facebook via their Online Law Enforcement Portal.
On November 30, 2022, SA Nichols completed a review of the PDF and associated video and image files. SA Nichols noted the information provided by Meta Platforms was consistent with SA Nichols’ observations during physical review of Taylor’s cell phone. A total of (17) mp4 videos of child sexual abuse material were identified in the data that was provided by Meta Platforms, from Taylor’s Facebook Messenger account.
The affidavit states that in July of 2022, Taylor became engaged in a conversation with two Facebook users. Taylor previously confirmed in the interview on September 7, 2022 that he did in fact participate in the Messenger chats. In another Messenger chat, Taylor began receiving various video files of adult pornography and the videoes were discussed in a sexual nature.
Based on the above facts, Edmond Taylor is in violation of Florida State Statutes 827.071 (5) Possession of Child Pornography (Seventeen Counts) for being in possession and using the aforementioned Facebook Messenger account to possess child sexual abuse material while in the State of Florida.
