Monday morning, the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office had the honor of recognizing Lt. William “Bucky” Buckhalt, Sgt. Robert Livingston, Deputy Blake Tharpe and Dispatch Supervisor Logan Boyett as recipients of an award presented during the 2026 Missing Children’s Day Award Ceremony.
This award recognizes their actions during a pursuit on August 3, 2025, after an AMBER Alert was issued for a 7 week old child who had been abducted.
What began as a pursuit ended with the most important outcome possible, the child was found safe.
In moments like these, every second matters. The quick actions, determination, and dedication of these three men helped bring a vulnerable child home safely.
“We are incredibly proud of Lt. Buckhalt, Sgt. Livingston, and Deputy Tharpe for their service and for the way they represented the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office when it mattered most,” Sheriff Arnold said.
Thank you for answering the call, protecting the inno-cent, and never giving up. Congratulations! Well deserved.
