Legal Notice Notice for Early Public Review of a Proposal to Support Activity in the 100-Year Floodplain and Wetland To: All Interested Agencies, Groups, and Individuals This is to give notice that the City of Blountstown has submitted an application for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG funds) to the Florida Department of Community Affairs. The funding is provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and will be used to rehabilitate one (1) existing lift station, replace undersized watermains and replace one (1) existing forcemain. This notice is required by Section 2(a)(4) of Executive Order 11988 for Floodplain Management, and by Section 2(b) of Executive Order 11990 for the Protection of Wetlands, and is implemented by HUD Regulations found at 24 CFR 55.20(b) for the HUD action that is within and/or affects a floodplain or wetland. Construction will be undertaken in the 100?year floodplain. The City of Blountstown is interested in alternatives and public perceptions of possible adverse impacts that could result from the project as well as potential mitigation measures. The lift station rehabilitation located on Mayhaw Drive is located within the floodplain area. The existing lift station is in poor structural condition and does not meet FDEP requirements. The City intends to replace the existing lift station with a new station of equal size.
