Woods, City Manager Legal Notice INVITATION TO BID ON 47.55 ACRES OF CLEAR CUT TIMBER Notice is hereby given that sealed bid proposals for 47.55 acres of clear cut timber to be SOLD will be received by the Board of Commissioners of Calhoun County, Florida until 12:00 P.M. CT), on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, for and on behalf of Calhoun County, Florida. Bids will be publicly opened and read at 2:00 P.M. (CT), on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, or as soon as practical on that date. The west one quarter of section 14, township 1 north, range 9 west, lying south of Magnolia Church Road containing approximately 47.55 acres. 200 ft x 1320 ft adjacent to Magnolia Church Road must be completely cut by February 1, 2010. The remainder must be completed by March 1, 2011. Bidders must show in their bid the per ton price for each category. Legal Notice PUBLIC MEETING OF THE CITY OF BLOUNTSTOWN, FLORIDA, CANVASSING BOARD AND CANVASSING OF THE ABSENTEE AND PROVISIONAL BALLOTS AND MANUAL AUDIT FOR THE DECEMBER 7, 2010 SPECIAL RUNOFF ELECTION The City of Blountstown Canvassing Board will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, to canvass absentee and provisional ballots for the December 7, 2010 Special Runoff Election. This meeting is open to the public and will be held in the Calhoun County Supervisor of Elections Office in the basement of the Calhoun County Courthouse, 20859 Central Avenue East, Room G-10, Blountstown, Florida. Sealed absentee ballots for the Special Runoff Election received prior to 3:30 p.m. on December 7, 2010 will be available for public inspection in the Supervisor of Elections Office from 3:30 p.m. until the Canvassing Board convenes at 5:30 p.m. Immediately afterward those absentee ballots will be opened and processed, but not tabulated. Tabulation of all absentee ballots will not begin until after 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2010. Any ballots received between 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, will be available for public inspection until opened. Those wishing to inspect absentee ballots received during that time period must be present. Shortly after receipt, those ballots will be opened and processed, but not tabulated. Pursuant to Section 101.68(2)(c)2, Florida Statutes, if any elector or candidate present believes that an absentee ballot is illegal due to a defect apparent on the voter’s certificate, he or she may, at any time before the ballot is removed from the envelope, file with the Canvassing Board a protest against the canvass of that ballot, specifying the precinct, the ballot, and the reason he or she believes the ballot to be illegal. A challenge based upon a defect in the voter’s certificate may not be accepted after the ballot has been removed from the mailing envelope. The City of Blountstown Canvassing Board will reconvene at 7 p.m. on December 7, 2010 to canvass precinct returns and provisional ballots. Prior to adjourning on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, the City of Blountstown Canvassing Board will determine the date and time for conducting a manual audit of the voting system for this election. The date and time of the public audit will be announced at that time. It may become necessary for the City of Blountstown Canvassing Board to reconvene to canvass absentee ballots after December 7, 2010. If so, the time and date will be posted at the Calhoun County Supervisor of Elections Office and announced at the conclusion of the December 7, 2010 meeting. In accordance with the Sunshine Law of Florida, all Canvassing Board meetings are open to the public.
