LCI officer, women are charged in smuggling attempt

A Liberty Correctional Institution (LCI) officer was fired Monday after allegedly assisting an inmate in his attempt to smuggle drugs into the prison over the weekend.Donquis L. Green has been charged with conspiracy to introduce contraband into a state facility, possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana with intent to sell or distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia. Facing the same charges are Chananja M. Jackson, 20, and Noretha Lewis-Jordan, 52, both of Polk County.For the complete story, check out this week’s print edition.
