The start of a new school year is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year. It is a time where everyone has the opportuni- ty to continue with the progress they have been making or com- pletely change their trajectory. Either way, it is impossible to not be excited about the possibilities that lie ahead for the students that we serve.
I want to congratulate all of our
students, teachers, school staff, dis-
School Superintendent trict staff, and administrators for
Darryl Taylor again earning the “A” designation
for the Calhoun County School District. We are so proud of the very successful year that our schools had and our schools’ grades as well: Altha-A. BES-B, BHS-B, and Carr-A. We thank everyone for the hard work and dedica- tion that it takes to achieve this accomplishment. Success in our schools translates to student successes and that is the highest recognition we can receive.
This has been the first summer since 2019 that we have not had a major construction project in progress. However, we have been very busy with routine maintenance to our facilities and trainings for personnel in preparing for the new year. We hope combining all of our District offices to a single location at the Main Street site will provide more convenience and allows us to be better serve the citizens of Calhoun County with their school related needs. Every improvement we make helps us continue to provide the best educational opportunities in the safest environment possible for all of our students in each of our schools. Our students deserve no less.
Whether you are starting your first year with our sys- tem or you have been with us for years, I hope that this year is the most successful year yet for all of our students and staff. Thank you for your continued support for our schools as we do our very best for our community’s chil- dren. We simply cannot do this important work without you. We look forward to seeing you and your children soon. Best wishes for the coming year and — Keep Going, Keep Growing!
Sincerely,
Darryl Taylor, Jr.
