Hospital Foundation hosts pheasant hunt and dinner

CALHOUN COUNTY, Fla. – (March 15, 2026) – The Calhoun Liberty Hospital (CLH) Foundation welcomed approximately 350 guests on Saturday, March 14, for its inaugural Pheasant Hunt & Wild Game Dinner, a community fundraiser supporting Calhoun Liberty Hospital.

After an afternoon pheasant hunt, guests gathered for an evening social featuring a silent auction, oysters on the half shell, Brunswick stew, and other local favorites. Dinner followed, along with a cake auction before the evening concluded with live music and dancing.

Foundation Chair Bill Gaskin expressed appreciation for the strong support from the community and event partners.

“We appreciate the many corporate and community partners who invested in local healthcare through their support of this event,” Gaskin said. “Their participation, along with the work of our dedicated board members and volunteers, made this a successful first year for what will become a signature event for the Foundation.”

Emily Brown, CEO of CLH, thanked the Foundation for its continued support of the hospital and the community it serves.

“This year marks the 65th year of service for Calhoun Liberty Hospital,” Brown said. “Our hospital has also been named one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the country for the third year in a row, and for the second year we are the only hospital in Florida on that list. We could not do what we do without the support of the Foundation and our community.”

Guests also heard remarks from Ryan Smith, President and Chief Operating Officer of Tallahassee Memorial Hospital and Andrew Starr, President of the West Market for TMH, who spoke about the continued partnership with CLH and opportunities ahead for healthcare in the region.

Established in 2024, the Foundation supports initiatives that strengthen services and patient care at the hospital.

Organizers say the strong turnout ensures the Pheasant Hunt & Wild Game Dinner will become an annual event supporting the Foundation’s work.
