Grant funds Substance Abuse Coordinator

The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office has been committed in the fight against illegal drugs in our community and our ultimate goal has been to implement a drug strategy that includes prevention, enforcement and rehabilitation.

Our office has recently received a grant through the Northwest Florida Health Network for a Substance Abuse and Mental Health Coordinator. With their help, this coordinator will be available to help residents who are seeking assistance with their substance abuse or mental health needs.

Our coordinator will meet with individuals seeking assistance and help to provide them with the resources that best fit them as they choose their next step to recovery. These resources will be free and available to residents of all ages. This position is responsible for assessing and coordinating substance abuse recovery and prevention programs, as well as mental health services, to meet the needs of the members of the community. The coordinator will support and closely oversee the care and progress of those individuals.

If you or a loved one is seeking more information regarding substance abuse programs or mental health services, please contact the Liberty County Sheriff Office at (850)643-2235 and ask to speak with Tiffany Cessna.
