The arctic blast now crossing the country arrives to the tri-state region this Friday and the coldest temps of the season quickly settles in for the Christmas weekend. Wind chills will possibly be in single digits in our area Saturday morning. A hard freeze is likely Friday night and Saturday night.

– Cover sensitive plants, and bring in pets!
– Protect pipes, consider dripping faucets connected to external pipes!
“As you know we predict freezing temps across the panhandle through the holiday weekend. The County road department has staged with sand in preparation to sand any bridges in need. Our main concern is black ice after the rain Thursday night going into Friday.
We recommend staying off the roads as much as possible especially for Friday. Listen for special warnings concerning road and bridge closures.
