On the morning of Tuesday, August 30, 2022 Trooper Cox with the Florida Highway Patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle just north of Altha.
A short time later, Deputy Ayers and Deputy Dew arrived on scene to assist Trooper Cox.
During the course of the traffic stop, Deputy Ayers deployed K9 Olly to conduct a free air sniff of the exterior of the vehicle. Subsequently, K9 Olly did alert to the odor of narcotics within the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle, Deputy Ayers and Deputy Dew located numerous items of drug paraphernalia to include used syringes, digital scales, glass smoking pipes, plastic baggies, and other paraphernalia. Deputy Dew and Deputy Ayers also located approximately 73.3 grams of methamphetamine and approximately one gram of fentanyl.
All four occupants of the vehicle were placed under arrest.
Deputy Ayers found probable cause to charge to following individuals with being in violation of Florida State Statutes:
