Fifth Graders participated in an Old Time Christmas Celebration at the Panhandle Pioneer Settlement on Friday, December 11. The students heard T’was the Night Before Christmas read to them before a roaring fire in the fireplace of the Yon House. They enjoyed mouth-watering biscuits with honey or jelly while they learned about the history of the Yon house. Students learned about life in a one-room school house in the old school house at the settlement. They also enjoyed making some of the crafts that pioneer children made. After a wonderful lunch, the students watched an old Christmas movie in the Frink Gymnasium. The students had a fantastic day and really appreciated all the hard work by the volunteers at the Pioneer Settlement.
