FHSAA presents Class 1A All Sports Award to BHS

Craig Damon, Executive Director of the Florida High School Athletic Association, was on hand Monday night at the BHS vs Marianna volleyball game to make a special presentation.  Earlier this year, it was announced that Blountstown High School had earned the Floyd E. Lay Sunshine Cup All-Sports Award, naming them the top Class 1A athletic program in Florida for 2023-24.  The Florida High School Athletic Association presents the award annually to a school in each classification.  Points are awarded to a school based on its finish in the FHSAA State Series competition in each sport in the classification in which it has been assigned to compete.  BHS finished in first place followed by Williston, Hawthorne, Jay, and Trenton.  BHS Principal Tracy Wood received the award.
