Three Altha FCCLA teams, accompanied by their sponsor Marie Ann Granger, traveled to Chicago, Illinois, July 3-8 to compete at the national convention. They returned with two gold medals and one silver. The students took their first plane trip, attended the Taste of Chicago chef sampler event, and watched fireworks at a 4th of July celebration at Navy Pier.The students treated Mrs. Granger to a birthday dinner at Ed Debevic’s, a restaurant famous for it’s hilariously rude wait staff. Mrs. Granger rented a limousine and took the students to some of Chicago’s most popular sites. In addition to having loads of fun, the students got down to work at the competition and enjoyed meeting FCCLA members from across the country.
