Driver caught with five pounds of marijuana

A suspicious driver wound up behind bars in Liberty County after being caught with five pounds of pot. Carldrick Tremaine Olds, 30, of Lynn Haven, has been charged with possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana with intent to sell and distribute, as well as violation of state probation. According to the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office, Dep. Bobby Revell was observing traffic on SR 20 in Bristol last Wednesday night when he spotted a westbound vehicle with dark tinted windows. He reported seeing the driver’s silhouette and said he appeared to take a quick glance at him, then lean back as if to hide himself. Dep. Revell pulled the vehicle over and told the driver, later identified as Olds, he was stopped for suspicion of illegal window tint, as well as a tag cover. Dep. Revell checked the window with his laser tint meter and it turned out to be illegal. While speaking with Olds, Dep. Revell detected the smell of raw marijuana. Dep. J.W. Shiver arrived to assist and they asked Olds to step out so they could search the vehicle. He initially refused, then later got out of the vehicle. A black plastic bag was discovered under the rear right passenger seat. Inside, five one-gallon bags of raw marijuana totalling five pounds were located. Also seized were five cell phones, $1700 in cash, and the Escalade he was driving. Olds remained in custody at the Liberty County Jail at press time.
