Did City manager allow teen to drive his city vehicle?

The State Attorney’s Office is investigating after a teen was reportedly pulled over driving the Blountstown City Manager’s work vehicle. Sources say a Blountstown police officer made a traffic stop recently on James Woods’ city-issued SUV and found one of his children behind the wheel with a friend in the passenger seat. The BPD handed the matter over to the State Attorney’s Office to determine if the teen had taken the vehicle without permission or if Woods had authorized the child, who is of legal driving age, to use the vehicle. Assistant State Attorney Bob Pell tells The County Record his findings should be released next week. Woods said he would gladly comment once the investigation is completed.
