One Calhoun County Commissioner announced last Tuesday night during a board meeting that he is proposing government agencies do the same to the tune of a 20 percent budget cut.Danny Wise, who represents District 1, gave his fellow board members a heads up that he would be making a motion at the August 3 meeting to roll back the county millage rate. You read that correctly – he is suggesting taxes be reduced. Wise wants to see the local millage rate, that has hit the 10 mill ceiling, drop down to 8 mills.
