Crash claims Altha man

A single vehicle crash claimed the life of an Altha man Tuesday night. Robert “Bobby” Hausen Sangster, 61, died from injuries sustained in the accident that occurred on County Road 69A. According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Sangster was behind the wheel of a 1998 Ford Mustang traveling southbound on CR 69A. Around 8:45 p.m., just north of Lee Farm Road, Sangster was negotiating a left curve when the vehicle ran off the road onto the grass shoulder, eventually colliding with a culvert. The Mustang went airborne, landed, then overturned, traveling into a tree line. Sangster, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected. Sangster was airlifted to Bay Medical Center where he was pronounced dead. He leaves behind three children, several grandchildren, and a host of other relatives. See page 10 in the print edition for his complete obituary. The accident was investigated by Corporal R.F. Bailey.
