County Schools open August 11th

I look forward to welcoming back our students and staff for the 2026-2027 school year. I hope that each of you has had a restful summer and has taken the opportunity to do a few things that you might not have been able to do during the school year. The beginning of a new school year provides an opportunity for continued growth or a complete change in direction. Whichever path you choose, I encourage every- one to look at their accomplishments and set a personal goal for growth.

As we begin this new chapter, I’m proud to share how our schools performed last year. Congratulations to all of our schools for the successful year that they had. Calhoun County’s “A” grade designation shared a top ten spot in the state of Florida with three other districts. We are very proud of our students, teachers, school staff, and administrators for earning the “A” designation for the third year in a row. Seeing the collective efforts of everyone contribute to the growth and development of our students is the highest recognition we can achieve. We are very proud of our schools’ individual grades as well: Altha-A, BES-B, BHS-B, and Carr-A. We thank everyone for the hard work and dedication that it takes to achieve this accomplishment. A school year involves a consistent commitment and partnership of everyone and it is an honor for us to be a part of this process.

This year, we will continue our focus from last year: “Keep Going, Keep Growing”. We are encour- aged by the goals that we have been able to achieve, but the bar has been raised and we still have more work to do. Our hope is to build on the positives of last year and to continue to work toward growing our student’s success. No matter where students are in their educational journey, this year has the potential to be the most successful year yet.

Enjoy the last days of summer and we look forward to seeing you and our students very soon. Best wishes on the coming year and – Keep Going, Keep Growing!
