According to Northwest Florida Water Management District Communications Director Jim Lamar, U. S. an Army Corps of Engineers permit was completed last week and debris cleanup from Johnny Boy Landing to Look and Tremble was scheduled to begin Monday, June 8. The debris was the result of Hurricane Michael in October of 2018. The Corps had to complete cleanup work on Holmes Creek in Washington County before the Chipola River project could begin. When more funding becomes available, cleanup will contin- ue to SR 20. The Calhoun County Board of County Commissioners have been instrumental in working for the cleanup funding.
