The Carr FFA Forestry Team recently competed in Perry, Florida, at the state forestry competition. Students were tested in the following areas: general knowledge, timber cruising, equipment identification, tree identification, forest disorders, and map interpretation. The Carr FFA team won three plaques. Students received second place in general knowledge and second place in equipment identification. They earned a third place plaque for forest disorders. High individual winners were April Rich, first place in timber cruising and J.P. Leonard, first place in general knowledge. Overall, the Carr FFA team was fourth in the state. Congratulations to these students and this newly chartered FFA chapter!Carr FFA competed in the sub-district contest on Dec. 10 at J.R. Arnold High School. Teams entered the Opening and Closing Ceremonies and the Parliamentary Procedure events. The Opening and Closing Ceremonies Career Development Event is open only to middle school students. The Carr FFA team won first place. The Parliamentary Procedure also won first place and both teams will compete at the district contest on January 21 at Sneads High School.
