Blountstown’s AAA All-Stars Head To State

By Kim Horne The Blountstown Dixie Youth AAA All-Stars have won their district championship that took place in Malone from June 20-25. We played five games and went undefeated for the tournament. Our team did a great job, everyone played well. Our pitching staff can’t go unrecognized. In the first game vs. Bristol AAA, Tyreek Sumner and Bryson Horne pitched a combined no hitter-3 innings, each winning 2-1. In the second game, Shad Johnson threw a 4 inning no hitter in a run ruled shortened game vs. Sneads AAA. In the third game, D’Anta Williams went the distance throwing a 6 inning no hitter vs. Altha. In the 4th game, we defeated Grand Ridge AAA team 8-4 advancing us to the district championship game. In the championship game, Blountstown defeated Havana AAA, 17-3, while allowing 1 hit. With that win Blountstown AAA will advance on to state representing District 5 to be played in Paxton beginning July 11th at 11:00 am CST vs. West Volusia American.
