Blountstown Ozone 12U headed to state July 15

The 2011 Blountstown Ozone (12U) baseball team has earned their birth to the state tournament in Avon Park, Florida beginning Friday, July 15. The team went undefeated in district play. Four games were played and they outscored their opponents, 73-5. The pitching staff was stellar and allowed only 5 hits for the tournament, while striking out 24 batters during the four game play. Bryson Horne pitched a no hit shut out against Havana in a run rule game that ended in 4 innings. The offense exploded with 10 homeruns. Bryson Horne led the way, hitting a total of 4. D’Anta Williams hit 3 and 1 each was hit by Tyreek Sumner, Tristan Burke and Jacob Yon. Seven players of the 12 man batting roster had a batting average of 500 or greater. The team will be doing fundraisers for their trip to the state tournament this Friday and Saturday. Please come out and support these kids – all your help will be greatly appreciated. We would like to congratulate the AAA Allstars for being runner up in their district tournament and want to wish our AA Allstar players good luck in their district play happening this week in Malone.
