My name is Jonetta Dawson and I am very honored to be the principal of Blountstown Elementary School. On behalf of the faculty and staff of Blountstown Elementary School, we would like to welcome all of our students PreK through 5th grades, our parents/guardians, family members, and community members to our new school. We are excited about being back on Fuller Warren Drive. Our theme this year is “Back Together Again”. Blountstown Elementary School has been separated since October 10, 2018. So we are very blessed, thankful, and grateful to be back on one campus again.
Please join us on August 8th from 10am-12pm cst at the new Blountstown Elementary School Cafetorium for our Ribbon Cutting Celebration. If you cannot make this event, we also welcome you to come to our Open House that is also on August 8th from 4-6pm.
We look forward to having a successful year in our new school.
“We are very excited for our Blountstown Elementary School students and staff to be entering the new facility,” Superintendent Darry Taylor said Monday. “This has been a tremendous construction project and marks the end to the major repairs the Calhoun County School District has addressed since Hurricane Michael. The facility is well appointed and will serve our students and this district for years to come.
We want to express our sincere gratitude to Representative Shane Abbott, Representative Jason Shoaf, Senator Jay Trumbull and Senator Bill Montford for their support for this project. We also would like to thank Facilities Director Willy Pitts, FLDOE Program Director Violet Brown, members of the Calhoun County School Board and Lobbyist Patrick Bell for their tireless efforts to seeing this project to completion. Additionally, we would like to thank CRA Architects, Allstate Construction and BNL Construction Services for the design and construction of this magnificent facility. We are thankful for everyone’s contributions and are most excited for our BES students to be back together again,” Taylor concluded.
