The sport of girls weightlifting is growing fast throughout the state. At Blountstown High School the interest and participation levels are rapidly increasing. We went from 18 team members last season to 45 this season. This year’s team is continuing the competitive edge and working hard for the ultimate goal of a State Championship. They took their first step by competing in the district Championships held Wednesday in Altha and successfully defended their first ever district title by winning the Traditional Championship and adding to that a first ever Olympic Championship. Next, the Lady Tigers travel to Live Oak, Florida to compete in the Regional Championship on Saturday, February 4th.
