BHS student athlete Layla Goins recognized

During halftime of the Blountstown vs. Liberty County football game Friday night at Bowles Field, Layla Goins was recognized for her accomplishments in the classroom and on the BHS Weightlifting Team.  
Layla’s work ethic and determination has helped the Lady Tigers weightlifting to a team best of a 3rd place finish at the FHSAA state championships this past season, a team best regional runner up finish, and 3 consecutive District Championships. 
Her personal accomplishments include a weighted GPA of 4.2667 in the classroom, 26 medals during her career with 4 consecutive individual district championships, 2024 regional and state championship as well as receiving the 2024 Florida Dairy Farmers weightlifter of the year. 
Layla’s accomplishments in the class room and in sports are a true testament to her dedication, determination and discipline she has set forth. She is true leader and will accomplish great things in life. Layla was presented her championship ring by her weightlifting coaches, Michael Scott and Leighann Summers.
