The 2011-2012 Blountstown High School Homecoming will be from November 7, 2011 through November 11, 2011. The theme will read “Red, White, and True: A Salute to the Fighting Tigers,” acknowledging that Friday, November 11 is also Veteran’s Day.Due to the large-scale change of the BHS campus location, changes to what each homecoming week day holds are necessary. Dates for the BHS Coronation, Bonfire, Tiger’s Growl, and Veterans’ Day program are To Be Announced. Please be patient as we work through the challenges given by the new campus. The location change has also required a revision of the Homecoming Parade route. The line-up/parade start will be at the new, Highway 69 BHS campus. The route will head South on Highway 69, then turn right onto Finley St. to go by Parthenon. The parade will return to Highway 69, and make the loop on Fuller Warren drive, to visit BES. It will continue on Highway 69 South, merging onto Highway 71, where it will continue the tradition parade route, continuing to Highway 20, going to the old courthouse, turning left on Cayson St., going to Pear St., and heading North, Merging onto Highway 69, leading back to BHS.We would like to extend an invitation to the entire community to enter a car or float into the BHS Homecoming Parade. As always, each school day will incorporate the theme through “spirit days” which are as follows:Monday, November 7: College Team Spirit DayTuesday, November 8: Support Our Troops DayWednesday, November 9: Duct Tape DayThursday, November 10: Celebrity DayFriday, November 11: Tiger Pride DayThough the process for electing the BHS King and Queen is still underway, we would like to announce the full Homecoming Court:9th Grade Attendants: Thomas Howell and Shae Hall10th Grade Attendants: Andrew Bennett and Jayla Brigham11th Grade Attendants: Chase Curl and Alexis Butler12th Grade Attendants:Girls: Kelsey Bontrager, Shaquala Butler, Karissa Flowers, GiGi Gutierrez, Kim Jenks, Nilsa Prowant, and Kaycee YonBoys: Saad Farooqi, Hunter Jenks, Patrick Pitts, Seth Scheuermann, Trent Smith, Marquell Thomas, and Anthony WilliamsFor more information, and to register for the parade, call (850) 674-5724.BHS Student Government Association is in charge of Homecoming organization.Flower girl, crown bearer soughtNominations are being accepted for crown bearer and flower girl for the upcoming BHS homecoming coronation.
