Here ye, here ye, calling all Tiger Nation! Blountstown High School is excited to announce that the 2022 Homecoming theme is, “Shrek: A Far, Far Away Homecoming.” This year’s homecoming will be the week of October 3rd-7th.

Monday, October 3rd, will be “Multiverse Monday.” Students are asked to dress as the ogre version of their favorite characters or as their own version of Shrek and Fiona. During break, students will test their ogre strength by participating in various physical challenges.

October 4th is dubbed “Three Blind Mice Tuesday.” Students are asked to team up with their friends to dress as their favorite group. During break that day, students will play a game of “Don’t Disturb the Dragon.”

October 5th has been officially appointed “Wish Upon a Waffle Wednesday.” Students and staff are asked to wear their favorite (school appropriate) pajamas, and participate in a waffle eating contest at break. That afternoon, students will be treated to a showing of the movie, Shrek.

October 6th is deemed “Tall Tale Thursday.” Everyone is asked to wear a costume inspired by a fairytale character. At break, a brave group of students will compete in “Shrek’s Fear Factor.” That afternoon, high school students will watch our annual Tiger’s Growl show; meanwhile, middle school students will celebrate at a dance in the cafeteria.  The dress code for the middle school dance is casual.  Dance tickets will go on sale next week!  That evening, BHS students are invited to the traditional bonfire, which will begin at approximately 6:30 and is not open to the public.

Friday, October 7th, will follow the theme of school pride, with everyone dressing to show their best Tiger spirit. Our annual Homecoming parade will commence at 12:45. If you would like to join our parade line-up, please call Blountstown High School at (850)674-5724 by Friday, September 23rd.

Our coronation ceremony will begin at 6:25 on Bowles Field. There, spectators will see one BHS senior girl and one BHS boy be dubbed Homecoming Queen and King! Subsequently, the football game against Northview will begin at 7:00.

To finish out our week of Homecoming festivities, high school students will enjoy a fantastical celebration from 8:00-10:00 p.m. on Saturday night at the semi-formal dance, which will be held in the high school cafeteria. We invite you, our Tiger Nation, to join with us in celebrating all things BHS during this week.  On behalf of BHS, we fare-thee-well and hope to see you at the game.
