BHS Beach Volleyball finishes second year as District Runner UP

The Lady Tigers Beach Volleyball team continues to make history. In the programs second year they brought home their first trophy in school history. Competing in the 1A District 1 Tournament they defeated Choctaw (6A) and Pace (6A) to move into the Championship match. They would lose to Gulf Breeze (6A) who is currently ranked #1 in the State. Beach Volleyball is still one single classification so they compete against schools of all sizes. Despite being District Runner Up they just missed the State Playoffs. “I’m so proud of this team for coming in and competing hard during the district tournament against much larger schools. It was such a cool moment to get the first trophy in school history with a team that helped start this program. I’m so happy for them and for our school!” said Coach Summers. The Lady Tigers Beach program looks to continue to grow next year with a lot of new faces, and a bar that is set pretty high.
